Located in the heart of Clifton’s Athenia section, School Thirteen has been a vibrant part of the community for over a century. As a magnet school for Spanish-speaking and ESL students, we take great pride in our rich cultural diversity and have been recognized by the state of New Jersey for the strength of our Bilingual/ESL programs. Our 450 students come from all over the world, and we embrace this diversity with pride and unity.

At School Thirteen, we are more than just a school—we are a family. Our staff is made up of passionate, dedicated professionals who strive to create engaging and inclusive learning environments for every student. We teach our students to lead with kindness, respect, and safety—our three universal expectations under the PBSIS (Positive Behavior Support in Schools) initiative, which launched in 2019.

A huge part of what makes School Thirteen so special is you our families. The strong partnership between parents and school staff is a key part of our success. We are incredibly grateful for our PTA, an energetic and committed group of volunteers who help bring learning to life through events, activities, and enrichment opportunities for our students.
